Join us for "What's Coming in Destiny 16.0" Webinar
Has it already been almost a year since 7/7/17?
As we near the end of the 2017-2018 school year, it’s incredible to look back at the changes Follett has introduced to our Destiny platform in the last 12 months. 7/7/17 was a big date on the calendar for us, as we released Destiny 15.0 with our new Collections by Destiny functionality. We are excited and happy to see how librarians, teachers and students have responded and created thousands of collections to highlight useful resources for curriculum in a new and engaging way in their schools and districts.
Shannon McClintock Miller has used Collections by Destiny to highlight resources that support everything from the Future Ready Librarians framework, to International Dot Day, to promoting Summer Reading. Collections by Destiny has also been getting better each month, with hundreds of powerful improvements introduced throughout the year.
Another highlight of the school year has been the new improvements in Destiny Discover – from the new look of Discover introduced as part of Destiny 15.0, to the new capabilities such as You May Also Like recommendations that were part of Destiny 15.5 in January 2018. With these changes, we have seen usage of Destiny Discover increase by over 80% this past school year. It’s been great to see our customers highlight in social media how they have used Discover to support increased access and usage of their great school library resources.
"Hey #eastbroncos....take a look at the eBook Spotlight outside the library! Scan the QR code and log into Destiny Discover to check out the eBook. We have over 3200 eBooks and over 500 digital audiobooks. #cisdlib" @Heather_Aston
The year has also included many other product improvements to Destiny Library Manager, Destiny Resource Manager, and Destiny Analytics – based on great feedback from you, our Destiny customers. We have also seen thousands of Destiny schools move their Destiny system to Follett’s Cloud Destiny solution – to eliminate the administrative and technical aspects associated with maintaining a locally installed Destiny server environment.
What will Follett bring to Destiny for the 2018-2019 school year?
Well, we plan to take the first steps in answering that question on Wednesday, May 16, when we host our “What’s Coming in Destiny 16.0” webinar. During this webinar, we will share important information with you about changes we will introduce to Destiny and Follett’s digital platform beginning in late July 2018. We will also share information on key priorities for improvements throughout the next school year.
We are eager to rollout new improvements that make Destiny better for you and the students and staff you serve. We invite you to join us on May 16 as we begin to outline how we want to help make your next school year even better than the last!
